Designworks lead a team tasked with the relocation of all staff from the Red House to Tower D of the Waterfront Project in downtown Port-of-Spain to facilitate the restoration of the historical structure. The brief for this project included the design and outfitting of 50,000 square feet of office space in addition to the House Chamber, the Committee Room, the Offices of the Prime Minister, the Speaker of the House, the President of the Senate and all 165 Parliamentary Staff. While this was relatively simple from a design standpoint, where audibility and functionality were the focus in the main chamber, the project was a logistical maelstrom, with all works being completed within 8 weeks in order for the 2011 National Budget to be read on time not withstanding the ongoing National Period of Emergency.
